Get to know lisa

Lisa grew up in a small town in Northeast Tennesee. After high school, she attended college in her hometown and then summers at the University of Madrid, Spain. Lisa moved to Miami to attend and graduate from Florida International University.

When Lisa was married, she moved to Georgia. She is a wife, a mother, a grandmother of two beautiful granddaughters, one grandson who will be born in August and a farmer in Middle Georgia. Lisa has lived all over the beautiful state from Gwinnett County, to Bibb County, to Hall County, to Cherokee County and now in Upson County. In her career, she has worked with every healthcare system from Ft. Oglethorpe to Valdosta, Statesboro to Columbus. She knows the people of Georgia and how they differ city to city and county to county.

During the Obama presidency, Lisa became more concerned about the direction of the country and joined her local Tea Party. Although she didn’t dive right into local politics, she spent her time reading history. Then, the 2020 election happened and it was time for action.

Lisa has served as the Chairwoman of the Upson County Republican Party for approximately 21 months. During that time, she has seen things within the GAGOP that need to change if we are going to win in 2026 and beyond.

It is time to Make the GAGOP great again!

Implement President Trump’s Election Integrity Agenda for hand-marked, hand-counted, paper ballots and one day voting.
True transparency in all things for the GAGOP. The GAGOP must have an Executive Committee with a voice that includes regular meetings. The GAGOP Treasurer also must have access to the bank accounts.
The GAGOP needs to not only communicate internally with the Executive Committee but the party also needs to be united in messaging across the state. Time to grow the party around America First messaging because Trump won’t be on the ballot
The GAGOP needs leadership to be from the bottom up with the grassroots directing the party. Those that make up the GAGOP Executive Committee need to carry the voice of the grassroots, be willing to be unpopular, always do the right thing and stand up to those higher up.
For far too long, the GAGOP provides cover for our elected politicians. They work for us and we need to hold them accountable for their votes and actions.

As Chair of Upson County, I am proud of all of the hard work and effort over the last year and a half that we — as a team — were able to accomplish to grow the Upson County GOP by 500%. I want to work with others and continue that work all across the state to grow the GAGOP! President Trump built a huge movement but it is up to us to keep carrying the America First message to others!

GO ALONG TO GET ALONG?

For far too long there have been people in leadership roles who are go along to get along, who don’t want to make anyone angry or will just fall in line. We’ve got to start standing for something! I am not afraid to speak out or to ruffle people’s feathers if it means remaining true to the Republican Party’s platform and holding people accountable that are supposed to represent the people across Georgia.

How are we supposed to grow the party if the current leadership of the GAGOP is blocking people from running for a party position? We need to be encouraging people who have never been involved before to join us. This is a terrible way to run the GAGOP because it shows others who may be interested in getting involved, even at the local level, that they must be seasoned veterans in the political world. Although I have only been involved since 2020, I am a county Chair who grew the county by 500%. If I am not good enough to qualify, who is?
